Active Day Vineland Recognized at Eldercare SymposiumMay 23, 2018
Active Day is pleased to announce that Yesenia Martinez, Activities Manager at Active Day of Vineland, was honored with a Semi-Finalist Caregiver Award at the Rothkoff Law Group Symposium for Eldercare Professionals. Caregiver professionals throughout Southern New Jersey had the opportunity to nominate an outstanding caregiver in their community who offers exceptional service to an elderly person.
“She is the heartbeat of our center… a caregiver in every sense of the word,” states Center Director Katie Smith. For nearly thirteen years, Yenny has created engaging, exciting programs that move and motivate the 100 members enrolled. Unlike a nursing home or assisted living, members of the Active Day program decide when and how often they attend, so keeping the program lively is key. Compassion with a dash of laughter and a sprinkle of extra love is Yenny’s recipe.
To meet the needs of a diverse population of members, Yenny creates 4 different activity calendars each month. She handcrafts each program with care and precision, always considering the unique needs of those in her care.
Community caregiving is also a passion for this energetic and dynamic woman. Yenny has raised thousands of dollars for Walk MS and has initiated and supported fundraisers for “My Little Lambs,” an orphanage in Honduras. She also raises awareness for Alzheimer’s disease and Breast Cancer throughout the year.
Active Day provides the highest quality personalized care to seniors and adults with special needs through fun and engaging communities built upon compassion and trust. Each of our adult day health centers enables frail, elderly and disabled adults to live at home and remain independent in their communities, while receiving health care and supervision during the day, as well as providing relief and respite for caregivers.
