For that reason, we are always open to new avenues to strengthen our brand and extend our business. We pursue growth opportunities through program acquisitions, mergers, management contracts, and joint ventures. Over the last 25 years, we have successfully completed transitions for not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare systems, religious organizations, continuing care retirement communities, nursing home, assisted living facilities, municipalities, and counties.
We are committed to expanding our home- and community-based services to provide quality care in adult day care and home health care (private duty and Medicaid) as well as new lines of business complementary to our current services.
We recognize that every program is unique. That’s why we invest individual time and energy to understand potential acquisition and merger candidates. We look primarily at candidates inside our current 15-state footprint. However, we are always open to establishing an Active Day presence in new states that meet our quality of care levels and financial criteria and that demonstrate strong growth potential.
It was great working with the Active Day team on the sale of our Adult Day Care Health Center in Miami. It was a very collaborative process even though we were working with aggressive deadlines and tight timeframes. Active Day was successful in making it a seamless transition for the staff, caretakers, and most importantly, the individuals served. It was a pleasure working with such a highly professional and well-organized group of people.
Active Day was a great partner who worked with us to ensure the smooth transition of our adult centers. They were understanding of the complicated bureaucratic processes, of the unique needs of the individuals in our centers, and of the long-time center staff. While privatizing our adult centers was a difficult decision to make, Active Day’s commitment to the people we serve and our staff was extraordinary and made the process a positive experience.
After starting my center over 20 years ago, it was a difficult decision to exit. I had many long-term employees who I wanted to ensure had a clear and secure future, and I was uncertain about the process. Active Day proved to be the right partner for the center, our members, and our employees. The process took time and effort, but thankfully Active Day knew what to look for. In the end, they made the transaction and the transition as smooth as possible and a very positive experience.
