Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

For clients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Active Day medical adult day care centers provide most physician-ordered breathing treatments to manage common symptoms of COPD, such as coughing and shortness of breath, and improve quality of life.

Our staff can administer bronchodilators via nebulizer or oxygen through either nasal tubes or a mask, which is important for many COPD clients. We can also work with clients and their families to encourage smoking cessation, which has been proven to halt the accelerated loss of lung function associated with COPD.
